I am proud of you Daddy. 
When I was a child you went off to war. 
I didn't understand what you wee leaving for. 

You knew you had to go, 
but didn't like leaving, 
Especially, when to your hand I was cleaving.

You were a good soldier, brave and strong. 
You knew you were there to right a wrong. 

Mother was sad, but knew what she had to do. 
She taught us to be patriotic to the red, white, and blue.

After a while you came back home, 
Never more foreign soil to roam. 

But you didn't stop there, you continued to train, 
Because you knew there would be war again.

I'm proud of you daddy for going off to war, 
And I'm very, very proud of what you stood for.
