Meet Steve Ryan
Steven G. Ryan is a 2nd generation US Marine, who enlisted in 1988, having served as a Combat Photographer at MCAS, Cherry Point NC. During the Gulf War he was assigned to the 2nd Marine Air Wing, G-2 at the Aerial Imagery Processing Facility, in support of Dessert Shield/Storm. Having a father who served his country as a Marine Combat Engineer in Vietnam, influenced him at a young age, often many of his art and school projects dealt with military themes. Developing an interest in the Medal of Honor, led him to collect the citations and stories of the men who would become his childhood heroes. These posters started out as a way for him to teach his 5-year-old daughter where she comes from and that there are True Heroes among us. They remain a humble tribute to these great men.
