STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW

As a mediator in the Russo-Japanese war, Teddy Roosevelt was a leader in achieving peace through The Portsmouth Treaty (1905).   For this role he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, becoming the first American to receive the award.
