President Ronald Reagan presented the Medal of Honor to William Crawford for his World War II heroism at the US Air Force Academy on May 30, 1984.

Footnote:  Bill Crawford was presumed dead in his heroic action and his Medal of Honor was presented posthumously to his father in 1944.  Crawford did not personally receive his Medal until this  date in 1984.
