First Lieutenant John Moulder Wilson, an Army Engineer officer, remained on duty while suffering from an acute illness. Though very weak, he participated in the battle at Malvern Hill, Virginia, on August 6, 1862. A few days previous to this action he had been transferred to a staff corps, but preferred to remain until the close of the campaign, taking part in several actions. |
