Captain Hazard Stevens, who was also serving as Assistant Adjutant General during the assault that captured Fort Huger, Virginia, on April 19, 1863, earned the Medal of Honor for his gallant leadership at the head of the assaulting fort that breached the enemy's works and captured the hostile fort. |
