Chief Bugler Charles Schorn was one of twelve soldiers who earned the Medal of Honor during the Appomattox Campaign in Virginia in action from March 29 to April 9, 1865. Chief Bugler Schorn's award was for action on April 8, at which time he was cited for his capture of the flag of the Sumter Flying Artillery. |
