Fifteen year old drummer boy Johann Langbein earned the Medal of Honor for his heroism in action at Camden, North Carolina, on April 19, 1862. Under a heavy fire, he went to the aid of a wounded officer, calling for medical assistance, and then assisting is carrying the wounded man to safety. |
