Corporal Edward Brown was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroism at Salem Heights in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on May 3 and 4, 1863. Throughout two days of engagements he carried the colors valiantly until wounded. Then, despite his wounds, he continued at his post under fire until he was ordered to the rear for treatment. |
