Corps in France, General Albricci rendered services of great distinction
to the allied cause. Later, as Minister of War, he showed a keen spirit

SACHERO, GIACINTO
Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army
Distinguished Service Medal to Giacinto Sachero, Lieutenant General,
Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in
a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United
States, during World War I. As Director General of Artillery of the
Italian Army, General Sachero was charged with duties of a most
important nature, which he performed with marked zeal and ability. He
was ever ready to place the facilities of his office at the disposal of
the American authorities and thereby rendered important service in
assuring the efficient cooperation of the two armies.

SCIMECA, VITO
Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army
Distinguished Service Medal to Vito Scimeca, Colonel, Italian Army, for
exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in a position of
great responsibility to the Government of the United States, during
World War I. Colonel Scimeca's services were of distinguished merit as
Chief of the Italian Mission. His conscientious attention to duty
presented a united allied front to the enemy, while his diplomatic tact
cemented the cordial relations among the allies.

SOGNO, VITTORIO
Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army
Distinguished Service Medal to Vittorio Sogno, Lieutenant Colonel,
Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in
a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United
States, during World War I. Lieutenant Colonel Sogno served with
conspicuous success as Chief of the 3d Section of the General Staff
Department, Italian Army, performing services of the utmost importance
in connection with the struggle against the common enemy. The warm
spirit of cooperation which he constantly displayed in his dealings with
the American authorities was a potent factor in cementing the cordial
relations between the Italian Army and the American forces serving in
Italy.

Distinguished Service Medal to Giulio Tassoni, Lieutenant General,
Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished service in
a position of great responsibility to the Government of the United
States, during World War I. General Tassoni Commanded with distinction
the 4th Italian Army, performing duties of great importance with
conspicuous success. His high military attainments and the able
leadership were an important factor in the victorious termination of the
struggle against the common enemy.

TOMMASI, DONATO ANTONIO

The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army
Distinguished Service Medal to Donato Antonio Tommasi, Lieutenant
General, Italian Army, for exceptionally meritorious and distinguished
service in a position of great responsibility to the Government of the
United States, during World War I. As Judge Advocate General of the
Italian Army, General Tommasi performed his exacting duties with high
conceptions of justice and loyal devotion to the common cause. By his
unfailing desire to aid the American forces in every possible way he did
much to further the harmonious relations which existed between the two
armies.
