Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Jenner Y. Chisum, First Sergeant, U.S. Army, for distinguished service as a member of Troop B, 6th Cavalry Regiment, in twice attempting at the risk of his own life to rescue a fellow soldier from drowning in Wild Cat Creek at Fort Meade, South Dakota, on 25 May 1907.

COX, ROY F.
Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Roy F. Cox, Corporal, U.S. Army, for highly meritorious services in voluntarily traveling about 30 miles during a service blizzard, rescuing a civilian from freezing near Lake Minto, and dragging by sled 65 miles to Fairbanks, Alaska, on 26 - 29 February, 1908.

FEARINGTON, GEORGE W.
Citation:
The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to George W. Fearington, Private, U.S. Army, for excellent conduct and heroic service while serving as a member of Troop I, 9th Cavalry Regiment, at Fort Duchesne, Utah, on 13 December 1899, when the troop barracks were destroyed by fire, having taken post on the peak of the seriously threatened building, remaining there in spite of the great heat, applying water until the danger was over.

The President of the United States takes pleasure in presenting the Army Distinguished Service Medal to Wilmer Harrison Hawk, Cook, U.S. Army, for voluntarily entering a closed place and removing sacks of powder that were in close proximity to burning powder and smoldering debris, at the risk of his own life, thereby preventing further disaster after the explosion at Fort Monroe, Virginia, on 21 July 1910, while serving as a member of the 69th Company, Coast Artillery Corps.
