Navy and Marine Corps Medal |
|
(Navy and Marine Corps) For acts of heroism not involving actual conflict with an opposing armed force. Though first authorized in 1942 during World War II, the Navy and Marine Corps Medal is a non-combat award presented to members of the Navy or Marine Corps, including Reserves, who distinguish themselves by heroism not involving actual conflict with an armed enemy. It shares its level of precedence with the Army Soldier's Medal, the Airman's Medal, and the Coast Guard Medal.
