Welcome To The
American History Rooms |
|
|
The American Heritage Rooms take up 2 full points of the Medal Of Honor Star on the
second floor. That is because there are so many things to learn and so much to
see. The walls themselves show our Nation's nearly 230 years of existence in a TIME LINE that makes it easy to understand how and when various
things happened. Here you will meet our presidents, learn when each state joined
our Union and find detailed information of every one of them. You'll learn about
inventions, the growth of business and industry, witness the step-by-step process of
building a nation, and almost feel like you have been taken back in a time machine to
actually be a part of it all.

 |
This is kind of what one of the two rooms will look like (if you take away the railing
that keeps people from falling down into the first floor). At the entrance to the
rooms are statues of our presidents, and along the wall are pictures and diagrams telling
about important events and showing you on our giant "ruler" just when they
happened. The counters along the walls contain glass cases to hold fragile items
from history for you to look at, but at the Hall of Heroes we like to let you not
only see history, but FEEL it. On top of the counters will be things like old
telegraphs, early telephones, old sewing machines, and models you can pick up and touch.
