The DMOHHA has taken a leadership role in The First State to honor its Medal of Honor recipients.  Over the last couple years, Medal of Honor headstones have been placed and properly dedicated at the graves of Delaware's greatest military heroes.  (Thumbnail at right shows the dedication at the grave of John Shilling on December 2, 2000
In addition to the individual grave sites of the recipients buried in Delaware, at the Delaware Memorial Veteran Cemetery in Summit there is a Medal of Honor Field to remember the state's heroes. The images below are thumbnailed to larger photos of this special place for remembering Delaware's heroes.
