*Died
in office while on a trip to the Western States. He suffered a heart attack and died

not worried about my enemies. It is my friends that are keeping me awake at
nights." President Harding in
response to rumors of corruption in the ranks of his administration. These rumors
proved to be true and after his death several officials were prosecuted, causing his
biographer to write:
"Few deaths are unmingled tragedies.
