On July 8, 2002 President George W. Bush presented the Medal of Honor to the family of Captain Humbert Roque Versace for his heroism as a prisoner of war during the Vietnam War. Captain Versace was a graduate of West Point, Class of 1959. Roger Donlon, the first Medal of Honor recipient of the Vietnam War was a classmate. Though Donlon was a non-graduating member of the Class of '59, he is still remembered as a member of that class, the only West Point class to have TWO recipients of the Medal of Honor.
