Where to locate records?
May 7th, 2005, 4:14pm

My late husband served in the Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959 or thereabouts,  I would like to make a framed display for our son that includes the flag from his coffin, photos and duplicates of his medals.  (The originals were lost.)  Can anyone tell me where I can write to obtain an official record of medals he won?

Thank you very much!

Thanks to the HOME of HEROES web site for helping out again.  A close friend contacted me and wanted to get his dad's records from WWII and his medals re-issued.  I was able to help him do this because of the information supplied by your web site.  His dad just passed away yesterday and we were able to go on the web site and see the correct order for the placement of the ribbons etc. on the jacket.  He will be buried in his uniform and you should be proud that you were able to assist and make this a memorable occasion.  Thanks !!
