Medal of Honor
Foundation

The Pueblo Medal of Honor Foundation was formed in 1998 to organize and host the year 2000 National Medal of Honor Convention and to supervise the design, construction and dedication of the National Medal of Honor Memorial located at Heroes' Plaza in Pueblo, Colorado.

Subsequent to that historic event, the Foundation was reorganized to maintain the existing memorial and a separate indoor Medal of Honor memorial wherein five actual Medals of Honor are publicly displayed.  In addition to promoting continuing local, patriotic programs, the Pueblo Medal of Honor Foundation serves in an advisory capacity to similar programs in other cities and communities around the nation.  Among current Foundation projects is an effort to facilitate a national organization for the family members and friends of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society and the individual recipients.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Pueblo Medal of Honor Foundation is to preserve and expand memorial dedicated to Medal of Honor recipients; to advance the history of the Medal of Honor; honor the legacy of those who have received the Award nationwide; to promote democratic ideals; and encourage among the people of the United States, and especially it's youth, citizenship, character, integrity and selflessness as epitomized by the Medal of Honor.
